the bananas didn't work

We'd love to show you some work, its seems we are going through a dry spell. The bananas didn't work too well and heard if you eat to many of them it can cause a potassium build up and our friend Lois says you can die... So we have resorted to wearing 'thinking hats'. A safer option it seems...

At the minute we seem to be putting a lot of time in to produce nothing... anyone else feel you can work for days and days and produce nothing?

they say bananas are good for the brain so we have decided it can only benefit our creative ideas... for backup we also drinking shit loads of "Lucozade Alert. Mental Edge"...

we have already eaten 5 bananas each and its not even 1pm...

Manchester Book Crits

This week Alex and i went to Love, TBWA Manchester, ChethamBell JWT to show our book.

We saw Simon at Love, Terry, Matt and Tom at TBWA and Paul and Don at JWT. Got some good comments, got some very good comments, got some contrasting comments, and got some throw that away comments.

Above is an old book from love which Simon kindly gave us... collection of work they had done over the last three years.

Before Christmas Weiden & Kennedy Portland was doing this thing called Seeking.. i filled out the ambiguous online form and then got sent an email to show them what i could do in 20 pdf pages.. Well i didn't get on, but in the post the other day i received this mix tape from them and the sticker first class all the way from Portland... thought that was pretty cool... Gonna Fail harder next time.

BJI held the 5th Workshop, Richard Pearson and Lisa Nichols were the creatives on hand to judge all the work.. We all liked the brief and as a result had alot to show.. Richard and lisa seemed impressed with everyones grasp of the brief and the amount of work produced..

Another insightful night..i know i say it every week..but they all are..

The fourth workshop was held at Pravda Manchester. Art Director Steve and Copywriter Cat all had a look at our efforts..Creative Director Jim critiqued all the work and gave it to us straight. Another insightful evening, thanks to Jim and the creative team for their advice and especially Jim for his time at the end of the session.

D&AD Third Workshop..JWT Cheetham Bell Ladies and Gentlemen.

JWT Cheetham Bell held the third D&AD workshop.. the brief was to educate foreigners that posting illegal tobacco will be seized by HM Revenue & Customs. Everybody came up with some great ideas for what was a tricky brief. Andrew, James and Paul were the creatives that critiqued the work. I think I can speak for everyone by saying how much we appreciated their time and willingness to help and give advice. Andrew and John were on the workshop last year, shows what alot of hard work and talent can do. Paul gave some great advice "take the idea as far as possible" and was really enthusiastic about the work.

Cheers Guys was a Fun night... Peroni..good choice.

Just and idea for Natwest to promote their student services.. they should have student cash machines where you can take out a £1 coins. great for the bus and little snacks... no more getting out £10 and wasting the change.

An Agency Called England was the next stop on the workshop journey.. Creative Director Paul Alexander, Creative Team; Dave and Stuart and Account Handler Alex were all on show to have a look at this weeks ideas. The brief was to create a campaign for Cartridge World that highlighted the benefits of using recyclable ink cartridges.
